| End of year English News
I’m afraid some English news has been lost
in cyberspace on the way to this website, but let
me assure you we have been busy learning this spring.
Now as the school year draws to a close, we are reviewing
and appreciating what we have learned in English.
Our revision covers the following topics in groups
1-4: school, body, family, clothes, food, celebrations,
homes, animals, toys and games.
Toys and outdoor-play and games are especially fun
to focus on now when the children would rather be
on the playground than in the classroom. We are learning
games and rhymes that children in America or England
would play outside. I hope to add some of these to
the list of songs above. (Teddy Bear, Apples-peaches-pears-plums,
Cinderella, Who is your sweetheart? and Grumpy Frog)
Ask the children from group 4 how to play the ball-bouncing
game: A is for Alice.
And speaking of games, the children in group 7 have
been making games, books and activities to help the
younger children learn English. And finally, both
group 7 and 8 will see movies that are based on the
chapter books I have been reading to them all year
– exciting to finally discover the end of these
stories!
